About Ryan Thomas Founder- North Shore Concrete, LLC

BIO

Ryan Thomas is the Founder and CEO of North Shore Concrete, LLC (NSC), a concrete and asphalt company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. With operations serving both Illinois and Texas, NSC is built on disciplined leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering long-term value to clients.

Before entering the construction industry, Ryan accumulated more than 20 years of senior executive leadership experience in the global technology and services sector. He held key positions at prominent organizations including Dimension Data, PCM, Burroughs, and Presidio, where he built and led high-performing sales and operations teams across the United States. His roles involved supporting Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 clients through close collaboration across sales, engineering, logistics, procurement, and service delivery functions.

In 2021, Ryan founded North Shore Concrete after recognizing a significant opportunity in the Midwest market: while many construction firms delivered strong fieldwork, they often lacked professional management, strategic planning, and consistent accountability. Leveraging his extensive executive background, Ryan established NSC with a strong emphasis on structured processes, safety protocols, clear communication, and operational consistency—qualities that bring transparency and reliability to an industry that has traditionally operated without them.

Ryan’s proven expertise spans enterprise sales, strategic account management, contract negotiation, supply chain coordination, and organizational scaling. He has successfully launched new regions, developed leadership teams, and navigated companies through growth phases, operational transformations, and economic challenges. These experiences continue to shape NSC’s approach to project execution, client relationships, and sustainable business practices.

In addition to leading North Shore Concrete, Ryan previously founded and served as CEO of Stratus Point Global, where he directed company strategy, talent acquisition, vendor partnerships, financial oversight, and client engagement—further honing his entrepreneurial skills and operational rigor.

Ryan earned a Global Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration with double majors in Management and Kinesiology from Houston Christian University. During his collegiate career at Houston Christian University, he was a two-time All-American as a pitcher, demonstrating the same discipline, accountability, and teamwork that now define his leadership philosophy. Prior to his business career, Ryan competed professionally as a pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization, earning All-Star recognition at the Double-A level.

Ryan resides in Northbrook, Illinois, where he remains deeply engaged in the day-to-day leadership of North Shore Concrete. His long-term vision centers on sustainable growth, building high-performing teams, and earning enduring trust from clients across Illinois, Texas, and beyond.

Built on Leadership. Delivered Through Craftsmanship.

Built on Leadership. Delivered Through Craftsmanship.

Built on Leadership. Delivered Through Craftsmanship.

North Shore Concrete was founded with a simple but uncommon goal: deliver dependable, high-quality concrete work with the professionalism and accountability homeowners expect—but rarely find.

Based in Northbrook, Illinois, we proudly serve the North Shore and surrounding Chicagoland communities, including Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, and nearby suburbs. We work in the neighborhoods we serve, bringing durable craftsmanship, clean job sites, and clear communication to every project.

A Different Kind of Concrete Company

Built on Leadership. Delivered Through Craftsmanship.

Built on Leadership. Delivered Through Craftsmanship.

North Shore Concrete was built by leadership that came from outside the trades—but learned them from the ground up.

Founded in 2021 by Ryan Thomas, the company combines hands-on field experience with disciplined management, structured processes, and client-first communication. The result is a construction partner that treats your project like a professional engagement—not just a job site.

Early projects focused on classic residential flatwork such as driveways, sidewalks, and patios—work that demands precision, preparation, and an understanding of local conditions. As the business grew, so did its capabilities, while maintaining the same hands-on standards that shaped our early work.

Building on the North Shore requires more than concrete expertise—it requires local knowledge. From freeze-thaw cycles and soil conditions to municipal standards and permitting requirements, we understand what it takes to build surfaces that last in Illinois weather.

That understanding allows us to avoid shortcuts and deliver work designed for long-term durability—not quick fixes.
